Prepare your mobile home for winter
Prepare your mobile home for winter early. Change the furnace filters and oil the blower motor. Replenish your heating fuel supply.
Get rid of junk, papers, leaves, and grasses which have accumulated under the unit during the summer. With your troublelight, look for holes along the bottom subfloor. Patch them so you don’t have to share your cozy winter quarters with little furry creatures. Make sure the anchoring system bolts are solid.
Give the entire hull a thorough going over, just as you do in the spring. Hunt out loose screws and bad caulking. Seal cracks. Lubricate door locks and hinges.
Replace torn or worn weather-stripping. Get your storm windows ready for installation. Considering fuel shortages and the progressively colder winters the last few years, September won’t be too early to begin your winter prepping.
