Your mobile home and appliance warranties benefit the manufacturer too. The manufacturer needs to know how well the company’s workmanship holds up. He can pinpoint manufacturing deficiencies from a record of warranty repairs. Your major benefit is the free service when you have problems.
Remember, if you don’t notify the manufacturer promptly of your purchase by submitting the warranty card, the manufacturer can refuse to honor your repair needs. Less than 25 percent of consumers value their appliance warranty enough to register their purchase with the manufacturer. The other 75 percent complain when warranty service proves hard to obtain.
A good many mobile homes have a one-year warranty; and some, two-year. However, most new-unit breakdowns occur within the first 90 days of use. Warranties on each appliance also give you free parts and/or labor, although usually for 90 days only. Protect your investment. Register and use all the warranties that come with your new mobile home.
